30 March 2016: Tortola (British Virgin Islands)

Arrived in Tortola at 8 o clock and very excited for today i am doing one of my bucket list things!!! Swimming with Dolphins, been wanting to do this for ages and when hubby said go and do it i took the plunge.First we were transported to the dolphin area in the local taxis which look like and open jeep or like our safari jeeps at home.The area where they have the whole operation is right next to the sea and  looks very natural.First we all had to sign our wavers and then we were taken trough to the instruction area,given a little introductory talk and procedures.Then fitted with our life jackets and off we went to the poolside to meet our dolphin.We were 10 in our group and you stand on a submerged platform in about 1.5m of water while the dolpin interacts at the command of his trainer.We all had time to rub the dolphin and what a feeling, soft,leathery,slippery,smooth just want to keep toughing him and its over in a second.Then we all had time for a kiss,rubbing his fins,being pulled by him while holding onto his fins,so he upside down and you on top of him, and then the amazing boogy board ride with him pushing you by your feet and what amazing power in seconds you are speeding over the water and loving every minute.I would recommend this interaction with these very special mammals any time,loved every minute and will be back for more. Being so close to them and looking them in the eye just makes me appreciate them more and no wonder you hear all these wonderful stories of them coming to peoples rescue when you are in their space/ocean,and you need help or there is danger around.In one of the other holding pens there was a dolphin mother and her baby but he was just doing his own thing ,while mom was working!!! After our encounter you could see all the photos they take of everyone while you interacting with the dolphins but was i in for a surprise,1 pic $35 and if you want all on a cd $99, so needless to say i had to be happy with just 1! and there were about 20 others of me with all the different things you do in the pool.My face on the ride with the boogy board and him pushing me, said it all ,loved every second mouth wide open!!!So must say think going with others that are just observers a good idea then they can take pics of your whole experience.When i get hubby to go i will be the photographer!

Love the look and feel of Tortola,the harbour and docking area is new and still in progress would love to see the rest of the island.Next time we will go on a walkabout to see more and get the feel of the place,why o why does everything have to cost money!!!!! Discovered a little bar where i got wi-fi for $3 so made myself comfortable and there i stayed for my hour.Cant wait for free wifi then you have time to chill and dont have to be rushed for the clock is ticking.

Got the itinerary for next week and we are off to the following places:

Key-west Florida which i loved ,so glad to go back only had 1 day their with last visit

Georgetown G Cayman

Ocho Rios Jamaica

GSC (Great Stir Up Cay the private island)

Then back to Port Canaveral for the next lot of passengers and the same itinerary as last week.So before i know it my time here will be over and it will be time for hubby to do the crossing to Europe and then home!!

Has been a lot cooler than Miami but dont want to get to excited for i might be in for a surprise but loving the cooler weather.Today we at sea so have been lazy but did get to the gym this morning,tonight hubby has the wave to do and then we will be off to supper after that.I will be going to the show tonight for he has the wave straight after the show.So until next time ,bye

Vandag nog n dag op die see,so baie rustig maar vanoggend vroeg ingelig dat hulle vandag cabin inspeksies doen so vroeg uit die vere om te sorg dat alles reg is net ingeval hulle ook by ons kom inspeksie hou. Ek was vroeg in die gym en geen verskonings gehad nie so baie tyd gehad vir n ordentelike uitwerk sessie en daarna die sauna kamer uitprobeer maar dit nou nie vir my nie te droog en warm ek verkies maar die stoom kamer,so is oor van die een na die ander een,al my kwaad sit en uitsweet,of dis wat ek glo!!Weet die Japanese baie lief vir die stoomkamer en hulle velle altyd pragtig maar ek is bevrees die koel al deur die kerk wat my vel betref met al sy spikkles en spots,toemaar al doen ons dit net vir die gewete! Vanoggend 2 baie weird mense in die eetsaal teegekom een vrou met goud geel krullers in die kop en nie waar nie heel voor op haar kop en ook net aan die een kant ,wat n gesig en hoekom mens nou so sal rondloop in die openbaar sal ek nie weet nie,einaardige spul en die ander was n ou man met n kerfees hoedtjie op sy kop,kersfees kruisbande,bloed rooi plakkies n rooi blink belt en n bonthemp wat orals se Christmas blues!!!Lyk my hy het die blues letterlik en figuurlik,stomme man!Wou graag fotos neem maar niks by my gehad nie miskien ook goed so.So ek kan glad nie kla van n vervelige dag nie daar is altyd iets aan die gang of iets om te bekyk.Moes lag vir my man se heel droog vir my gisteroggend jong jy moet kyk of hier nie dalk n tetsi vlieg in ons kamer is nie want wragtig ons slaap dat dit bars en vir dood!!! Dis nou een lekker ding van die skip slapery ,jy kry n ordentilke slaap in,diep slaap.Sover nog nie n code alpha of ander moeilikheid gehad nie maar daar is n vrou in St Thomas van die skip afgelaai na sy amok maak elke aand in die kuierplekke.die het reg voor ons afgeklim met haar arm in n sling na die vorige nag se kattermaai en moeilikheid maak,lyk my verlaaf aan middels en alhohol,en ergste 2 stomme kinders by haar gehad en die het toe met vriende op die skip agtergebly so wat van haar geword het weet ek nie.As jy afgelaai word is jy op jou eie en moet self sorg vir terugkom by die huis en hierso is dit vlieg want mos heeltyd tussen die eilande.Liefie baie bly hy oppad Europa toe nou genoeg gehad van die Karibiese eilande.O ja gisteraand het ek n lekke verassing gehad toe ek in die kamer kom toe se liefie sy baas het vir hom gese hy kan vanaand op sy rekening gaan uiteet so dit was n lekker treat en ek en hy is toe 9 uur uit vir ete by een van die steakhouses,natuurlik dwarsdeur die menu en trommel dik terug kamer toe.Moes natuurlik weer my wyn drink na my ete maar ek bevrees die einde ook in sig want nog net een doppie oor vir my dan is dit ook vir eers klaar.Ek sit vamiddag hier agter op die skip met n uitsig oor die waterslides vir die kinders en eintlik te dierbaar hulle geniet dit so en kry nie genoeg nie,so dink so n vakansie vir kiddies n fees dink hulle pass uit teen die einde van die dag en hulle het nog programme vir hulle ook tussen in as Pa en Ma n blaaskans soek.Gister het die Escape langs ons gedok en is bitter groot,het ook n walking the plank affere heel bo op die skip en moet tot die einde van die plank of balk loop en n toutjie trek om n foto van jouself te neem as bewys dat jy dit wraggies gedoen het,nie vir my nie weet nie hoe hulle dit doen nie,het fotos geneem om te wys,wat hulle nie nog sal uitdink vir pret en plesier nie.Vandag n lieflike dag en al wat leef en beef om die swembaddens en langs die water,ook n hele paar rooi krewe.Tot volgende keer mooi loop.
